Data were collected from pre- and post-test scores, literacy life maps, semi-structured interviews, and course questionnaires. Findings suggest pre-service teachers with limited prior knowledge struggled with learning PPA but were able to overcome the challenges. Participants perceived their preparedness and confidence in teaching PPA had grown through the course.
