This technology provides a few advantages with compared to classical electrical sensors like tolerance to the electromagnetic interference, usability in problematic environment and higher precision of obtained data. In this article will be introduce possibilities of utilized optical fibre and fibre Bragg gratings. Optical fibre without special adjustments can be used as geological sensor where micro and macro bends allow to detect of deformation zone. Fibre Bragg grating sensors provide larger sensing possibilities with higher accuracy at certain point. We are experimentally used these sensors as a part of vehicle in motion weighing application that is implemented as a test platform in the University of Zilina campus.
