Wake words are an integral part of every request addressed to Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPAs). The main question we pose in this paper is, whether we can eliminate the use of wake words at least in specific contexts. Based on our experience with IPAs we propose three less burdensome alternatives that avoid the need for speaking wake words in some cases.
