Even in the face of advances in medicine, some auxiliary technologies are still being used in order not only to solve, but also to promote other problems, as well as the aggravation of the original pathology. Pressure Injury (PPL) is a condition that results precisely from this inadequate use of the auxiliary tool of health professionals. LPP can both aggravate the patient's initial problem, as well as generate other compromises due to inappropriate use. Thinking about a more effective use of technologies, this article aims to promote a survey of information about the theme in Brazil today, so that, with the awareness of the problem, it is possible to think of alternatives that circumvent it. Thus, the study consists of seeking, analyzing and identifying, through research in the scientific literature, the occurrence of errors and/or intercurrences, and describing the health devices that can cause injuries to patients. In order to reach the objective, this study was configured as a qualitative research, using the method of narrative literature review, carried out from secondary sources, and the data collection allowed a deeper study of the theme in a systematic and orderly manner. One of the main conclusions of the study is the need to approach health professionals, directly involved in care, who demonstrate that they do not have in-depth knowledge of health technologies and play a fundamental role both in the prevention of LPP, as well as in the process of recovery of the patient, and that due to this insufficient knowledge, injuries can occur and extend the permanence of patients in the hospital.
