A regular hexagonal frequency reconfigurable antenna with metasurface
A novel regular hexagonal frequency reconfigurable antenna is raised in this article. The proposed antenna is consisted of two substrates with metal etched on them. Two pairs of PIN diodes are used to adjusted the effective electrical length of the antenna. Then the antenna could be reconfigurable. The metasurface is used to adjust the impedance matching and increase the gain of the antenna. The final results show that the simulated bandwidth $(\vert \mathbf{S}_{\mathbf{11}}\ \vert < -\mathbf{10})$ is 34.7% ranging from $\mathbf{1}.\mathbf{76}\sim \mathbf{2}.\mathbf{5}\mathbf{GHz}$ and 68.2% ranging from $\mathbf{2}.\mathbf{27}\sim \mathbf{4}.\mathbf{62}\mathbf{GHz}$, respectively. The peak gain of the two antenna is 2.35dBi and 6dBi.
