Effect of polarization for different aerosol models is studied in detail in the paper, and results show that polarization should be considered in retrieving AOT over urban area. The retrieved result using SFM could reflect the distribution of AOT. Air quality assessment for Beijing city by retrieving aerosol optical thickness from HJ-1A/B images using structure function method
