DEMAND FORECAST STUDIES IN THE RETAIL SECTOR: A LITERATURE SEARCH

When we examine it from the point of view of businesses operating in the retail sector, situations such as stock-holding costs and out-of-stocks can create a factor that will reduce customer satisfaction. In this context, estimating demand for retailers and making production planning accordingly can be beneficial in terms of reducing costs. This benefit provides an opportunity for the business to gain competitiveness against its competitors and we can say that it is important to forecast demand for retailers. From this point of view, it is aimed to conduct a literature research on demand forecasting, demand forecasting methods and studies on demand forecasting in the retail sector.
