This causes health hazard to living being and also affects machinery in scientific and industrial environment. This is termed as Radiation hazard (RADHAZ). Increased use of high power RF transmitters has been a concern in recent times. This paper attempts to analyze the effect of high power radiating sources in the vicinity at a scientific location. RF measurement was carried out using a spectrum analyser. The equivalent electric field were obtained from the measured power level. Measurement of uncontrolled RF sources such as TV Transmitters, Radio Signals and Mobile base stations were also measured. The measurement data were analysed w.r.t hazards of electromagnetic radiation to ordnance (HERO) guidelines of US defence standards. The US defence has laid down guidelines, called as the MIL-STD-64 standards which is also followed in majority of countries including India.
