The history of the emergence and study of this phenomenon, as well as its significant differences from other forms of romantic relationships, is discussed. The analysis of theoretical sources discusses Bowlby’s theory of attachment, as well as the work of his followers. The research related to the study of polyamorous relationships and the characteristics of people included in these relationships are considered. Also, an important part of the topic of polyamorous relationships is the stigma around, both on the part of the inhabitants and on the part of researchers - in scientific articles, questionnaires. The phenomenon of polyamorous relationships still remains unexplored due to the prejudices that have arisen about this format of romantic relationships. The purpose of the article is partly to show these prejudices and to show the diversity of this topic in scientific discourse. The study examines the features of the experience of loneliness and attachment components of young people involved in romantic relationships of monogamous and polyamorous types. Intergroup differences are shown between men and women, representatives of different age groups, respondents with different marital status and practicing different types of romantic relationships.","PeriodicalId":253464,"journal":{"name":"RSUH/RGGU Bulletin.
