The results show that although the competition mechanism in gamification test has no significant impacts on cognitive load and learning experiences, but compared with the traditional computer test, it can significantly improve learners' relaxation, retention test scores and transfer test scores. The findings highlight the importance of a competitive gamification learning environment to learners.
