We argue that the modeling language together with heuristic rules-based reasoning mechanism offer a potentially more substantive approach to understand the nature of service systems in a variety of social contexts. Furthermore, understanding the underlying assumptions and constructs through the use of the services capability modeling framework will not only inform researchers of a better design for service-oriented systems, but also assist in the understanding of intricate relationships between different factors that services are situated in.
