Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The population of the study comprised 1,054 secondary school teachers drawn from 302 public secondary schools in Benue State. Out of which 350 teachers were randomly sampled. A self-structured questionnaire titled “Nonteaching staff and Best practices for Goal achievement Rating Scale (NBGRS)” was used to collect data for the study. Data collected was analysed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions while, Chi-square test of goodness of fit was used in testing the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level of significance. Findings of the study revealed that managing boarding master/mistress and cleaners significantly influences institutional best practices and goal achievement in secondary schools.
