The evolution of discipline shows that emerging engineering education (3E) has its necessity. In this paper, the 3E is discussed from the reflection of modernity, classification guidance and higher education institution’s self-exploration, integrity-oriented engineering discipline reconstruction, engineering education comprehensive reform, and other aspects.
