This study, entitled "The Features of the Wretch in Lamiyyat Alarab", seeks to reveal some of the moral and congenital features of the Wretch in the poem "Lamiyyat Alarab" by Alshanfari. Various characteristics of the Wretch were identified when Alshanfari describes himself, thinks well of moral traits that relate to his own nature, and distinguishes him with virtues and good manners. The study points out the characteristics of: alienation, isolation, and exclusivity in the Wretch's own life. In fact, Alshanfari describes himself as: courageous, patient, resistant, self-esteemed, virtuous, ascetic, worried, humble, modest, firm, respectful of opinion, and refraining from gossip. The study approaches the congenital features that pertain to the shape and appearance of the Wretch represented in the life of Alshanfari, which are also revealed by the study of Lamiyyat Alarab. Some of these features are: thinness of the body, lack of interest in appearance, and the incomparable fast running. The study concludes that Alshanfari, in his wretched life, focuses on moral characteristics as the most important human aspect by which one is evaluated, since it is not the appearance, it is the essence.
