From the administrative and territorial aspects, it encompasses different organizational units – cities of Banja Luka, Prijedor and Gradiska and municipalities of Novi Grad, Kostajnica, Kozarska Dubica and Laktasi. This regional system covers 1848.3 km2 with the population of 91.097 according to the 2013 population census, which represents 7.7% of total Republic of Srpska’s population.
