This paper takes Permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) drive 126kV vacuum circuit breaker(VCB) as research object. The kinematic and dynamic analysis of the device are carried out, and the mathematical model is established on Matlab/Simulink platform. Then based on the intended working performance of the vacuum circuit breaker, the requirements of PMSM's technical parameters are calculated, including torque demand, rotor speed and shaft load characteristics. Finally, the prototype of PMSM drive vacuum circuit breaker is developed.
