Such conditions are typical for representatives of different types of activity, part of the space of various social institutions, including the education system and the activities of teachers as its subjects. The effectiveness of the teacher’s activity is determined not only by professional knowledge, abilities, skills but also by professionally significant characteristics. High school helps the teacher overcome many of his requirements. Among the professionally significant personality traits, a special place is occupied by stress resistance and emotional intelligence. Specialists with high emotional intelligence consider themselves to be successful people and are highly resistant to maladjustment. The article presents the results of a study on the relationship between emotional intelligence and stress tolerance of higher school teachers. The results of the correlation analysis in the group of teachers showed that there is a connection between the indicators of stress tolerance and the scales of emotional intelligence, which indicates that the level of stress tolerance affects the ability to express and manage one’s emotional state. The study contributes to the understanding of the need to develop the emotional intelligence of higher education teachers.","PeriodicalId":336594,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of the Karaganda University.
