With the integrated Marchand balun, the dipole and balun can be printed on the same PCB, thereby reducing the weight and cost of the antenna. The vertical parasitic superstrate and horizontal dielectric layer are loaded on the antenna aperture to improve the impedance matching when the antenna is scanned at a large angle. The simulation results show that the antenna can achieve a scanning angle of 80° on the E-plane and 70° on the H-plane in the X-band (8–12 GHz), with acitive VSWR< 3.
