Two PIN diodes are integrated in each coding element, to realize four different on-off states, corresponding to four distinct phase responses. A metasurface composed of 15*15 elements is simulated, fabricated and measured, showing good consistence between simulations and experiments. To demonstrate the phase manipulation performance of the proposed reprogrammable metasurface, three typical coding patterns are designed and simulated, to obtain single-, dual- and multi-beam scattering fields.
