Muller et al., 2005) which uses only a single active receiving antenna and multiple passive elements to achieve spatial diversity. The passive elements are used to construct suitable antenna patterns which can be rotated 360 degrees around to achieve a MIMO effect. This paper discusses some antenna patterns which can be used for this purpose. An example of an antenna with one active dipole and 6 passive dipoles distributed on a circle around it is given. The distance between the active dipole and the passive elements is chosen to be lambda/8, which means that the antenna system will have a diameter of approximately lambda/4.
