Therefore, the fault tolerant control (FTC) have become a concerned subject widely. In the process of development with respect to FTC, model predictive control (MPC) is proposed as an efficient fault regulation method. Fruitful results have been witnessed on the FTC based on MPC recently. This paper attempts to summarize the FTC approaches on the basis of MPC. The basic ideas and shortcomings of these methods are analyzed. Then, this paper summarizes the development trend of FTC technology, and puts forward some new research directions in the future.
