Le retour du manuel de français au lycée marocain : un impératif didactique ?

Abstract : The reform of teaching French as a foreign language in Moroccan high schools was marked by the removal of textbook for many reasons. This latter was criticized because it reflected the transmissive approach in language teaching. However, we assumed that its return would solve a wide range of problems in the French class. To verify this hypothesis, we conducted interviews with teachers. We also analyzed the functions of the textbook Lire facilement mes oeuvres. Therefore, our article aims at highlighting the dysfunctions of the new reform that has prioritized the pedagogical project at the cost of the textbook which was the main medium in the French class and provided students with necessary tools to get focused and involved during their French sessions. Résumé : La réforme de l’enseignement du français au lycée marocain a été marquée par l’éviction du manuel scolaire pour bon nombre de raisons. Il a été décrié étant donné qu’il plaçait l’enseignement du français sous l’égide de la transmission. Cependant, nous avons supposé que son retour résoudrait pas mal de problèmes. Pour vérifier cette hypothèse, nous avons mené une enquête par entretiens avec les enseignants. Nous avons, par ailleurs, analysé les fonctions du manuel Lire facilement mes oeuvres. Le but étant de mettre en évidence les dysfonctionnements de la nouvelle réforme qui a priorisé la conception du projet pédagogique au détriment du manuel scolaire : support didactique qui a longtemps occupé le devant de la scène et fait ses preuves auprès des élèves, lesquels avaient des repères clairs pour suivre attentivement le cours du français.
