As of February 2021, restaurants and grocery stores seem to show slow initiative to adopt more climate-conscious packaging options. This could be due to hardships on businesses due to the pandemic or the perception of unrecoverable packaging costs. This proposal entails collecting Mercer County consumer preferences on the adoption of climate-friendly options and assessing how much value consumers put on these options. This data can be shared with businesses in Mercer County to catalyze these businesses to adopt climate-conscious packaging options. Data will be collected through primary research done via electronic anonymous survey tools promoted via social media channels.
