Space-time coherence processing of electromagnetic fields in complex media
This work deals with the analysis of the degree of coherence of electromagnetic fields propagated through structured or reverberant media. The study focuses on space-time transfer matrices associated with the excitation of spatially localized and temporally coherent waves within such type of environment. It is proposed to associate numerical techniques allowing the decomposition of the propagated fields into a set of subspaces ordered according to their degree of coherence. Finally, we show that the components associated with the propagation regimes most favorable to any practical needs can be identified to either mitigate or enhance the effect of the complex media under consideration.
