Three phase pulse width modulated rectifiers compared to diode and thyristor rectifiers offer advantages like bidirectional power flow, unity power factor, control of DC-link voltage etc. This paper deals with control of DC voltage and unity power factor operation of PWM rectifier using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation based Vector Control technique. A transient analysis of the system is carried out. A 200V, 3φ PWM rectifier is simulated using MATLAB to verify and validate control method.
