Multiband Orthogonal PSWF Pulses Used for M-ary PPM Ultra-Wideband System
In this paper, we proposed a multiband orthogonal PSWF pulse set design method. The designed pulse set has a high spectrum utilization efficiency while meeting the FCC spectral mask without frequency shifting or additional filtering. Based on this, a Mary PPM modulation scheme using the orthogonal pulse set is developed. In this scheme each user is assigned a different orthogonal PSWF pulse. And the MAI of the system can be eliminated completely under ideal condition. An analytic expression of the SER performance for the scheme is derived theoretically. Simulation results show that the proposed system has a better BER performance than the traditional UWB system employing single Gaussian pulses. Moreover, the multiband orthogonal PSWF pulses are effective in overcoming MAI of the system.
