Combining reconfigurable antennas into linear array for dual-plane beamsteering
The paper investigates a new application of a previously designed pattern reconfigurable antenna. A single antenna is able to rotate its dipole-like radiation pattern on a single axis. This paper demonstrates how once can efficiently extend this performance by combining two such antennas into a linear array. The proposed array allows continuous steering of the main beam direction between two orthogonal planes. The theoretical predictions are in good agreement with numerical simulations (CST MWS).
