New mica paper insulation for fire resistant cables
Although 25 % of all major fires are caused by electrical equipment, only a very small percentage can be attributed directly to the cables. They can, and do, overheat when subjected to current overloads or system failures, but adequate circuit protection ensures that only very few fires are started in this way.
