The proposed opportunistic scheduler is interference-aware and maximizes the system throughput by controlling the power of the distributed antennas and by optimizing the modulation and coding schemes of each scheduled user. The results show that the proposed algorithm provides considerable throughput gains per resource, more than 200% for high user density.
