However, it will be very expensive for enterprises to build a commercial network management system, and the annual maintenance cost is also quite high. A novel solution that can help network administrators to maintain and monitor routine network operations was proposed in this paper. The instant messaging APP of smart phone was combined with the proposed network management system to provide real-time active message push. Once there any abnormal situation occurs in network equipment or host system, network administrators can, even when they are not standby in computer room, obtain the abnormal actions from a real-time alert, which is triggered by the consolidation of monitoring from Client End and Server End and actively popping up in a specific App of smartphones, and start addressing the abnormalities by looking into the root causes from the network management system.
