Large Deflection Cylindrical Bending Analysis of Cross-Ply Laminated Strips
A finite-difference implementation of the dynamic relaxation (DR) method is used to solve the equations for antisymmetrically laminated, cross-ply strips. Comprehensive dimensionless results are presented for uniformly loaded simply supported and clamped GFRP (glass fibre reinforced plastic) and CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastic) strips in order to establish the influence of extensional-flexural coupling on the strip response in the large deflection regime.
