The Reality of Electronic Supervision and the Obstacles to its Application from the Perspective of Educational Supervisors
The study aimed to identify the application of electronic supervision and the obstacles to its implementation from the perspective of the educational supervisors in the cities of Dammam and Khobar. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive methodology was employed. The questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of (134) female educational supervisors. The results showed that the application of electronic supervision achieved a high degree, where educational tasks ranked first, followed by administrative tasks, while the professional development dimension for female teachers came last in terms of the application of electronic supervision. The results also indicated the existence of obstacles to a high degree when applying electronic supervision ranked as followed: technical obstacles, human obstacles, and finally administrative obstacles. The study provides a number of recommendations such as preparing education offices and schools with the required devices and equipment that support the employment of electronic supervision, attracting female specialists in computer software to work in the education offices, adopting electronic portfolios for supervisors and teachers, and finally holding periodic meetings for the educational supervisors at the region level to discuss the latest technological developments.
