In order to solve the problems caused by traditional three paragraph overcurrent protection used in collecting power lines, a novel inverse-time overcurrent protection method is proposed based on fuses' protection features and PMSG's (permanent magnetic synchronous generator) operational characteristics. The novel protection method is analyzed theoretically and verified by simulating.
