Uma nova etapa da pedagogia religiosa no Brasil colonial: o etIope resgatado

The present text analyses Rescued, Pawned, Supported, Corrected, Instructed Ethiopian Freed, written in 1758, for the priest diocesano Manoel Ribeiro Rocha that presents a speech on the release of the slaves in Brazil and proposes the reduction of the captivity, resulted from a religious pedagogy for the obedience and the submission, and a late release, coinciding with the last years of the life of the slave. The results observed the presence of a lively thought and shade about the slavery, captained by the intellectual and religious elite of Brazil at century XVII and XVIII. In the specific case of the work of Ribeiro Rocha, the influences for him received, declared or not, they show the strength power of the religious about the slavery, in his several shades. The conclusions point to the fact of which those monks, more than to remove the slavery, they were intending to make it more gentle, guaranteeing, in this way, the efficiency of the colonial economy.
