Mitigation of electromagnetic interference in low power compact electrodeless lamps
The commercial success of the electrodeless discharge lamp depends on a number of factors relating to efficacy, size, cost and electromagnetic interference. The problem of electromagnetic interference (both conducted and radiated) must be dealt with in order to comply with FCC and (CISPR) European Standards. This paper discusses finite element analysis and circuit modeling techniques to suppress conducted interference, caused mainly by electric fields coupling from the lamp. Also, this paper describes a combination of practical suppression techniques to control electromagnetic interference of the lamp.
