本文介绍了Oracle VM VirtualBox、VMware Player和Microsoft Virtual PC 2007三种不同的虚拟化软件在Windows 7操作系统环境下的性能比较结果。所有的测试过程都在相同的硬件环境和相同的磁盘分区上执行。我们采用NTFS文件系统，使用Windows 7作为主机和客户机操作系统。邮戳是为文件系统性能测量的需要而创建的基准应用程序，可以很容易地根据不同的文件大小测试系统和虚拟化应用程序的性能。
