The frequency-dependent couplings between power line cables and twisted-pair were estimated from measurements on a large number of residential inside wires. A parametric statistical model based on a mixture of two truncated Gaussian distributions is then set forth. The proposed statistical model allows the statistical evaluation of the impact of broadband PLC (BB-PLC) interference on various DSL technologies.
