Moderasi Beragama Di Kota Medan: Telaah Terhadap Peranan Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) Medan

Religious moderation can be understood as an appropriate religious attitude in the midst of a pluralistic society. Indicators of religious moderation are national commitment, tolerance and anti-violence. The focus of this research specifically looks at the role of FKUB as a religious institution that already exists in the city of Medan, its position is expected to provide education to the public regarding the actuality of moderate religious understanding. This study uses a qualitative approach by looking at several indicators of religious moderation carried out by FKUB Medan, data collection is carried out by direct interviews and focus group discussions related to religious moderation in the city of Medan. The results of this study include FKUB as a religious institution in Medan City who fully accepts the concept of religious moderation and feels the urgency to be applied in the midst of society, in its operations various kinds are carried out including socializing the concept of inter-religious harmony both through digital and print media, besides that carrying out dialogue activities by presenting various elements of society, elements of government, dialogue between religious leaders, teachers and religious educators, journalists and student groups in Medan City.
