Nota introdutória As migrações europeias numa nova era

This dossier, which is now being published in R:I magazine, aims to answer some of the concerns raised by the process of globalization of migratory phenomena, in a context of adjustment to the ongoing global change, at the political, economic and social level. It does so on a global scale, while maintaining the focus of analysis on the European reality and with regard to the Portuguese case. Analyzing the present and identifying the factors that can be crucial and bearers of stability or change is a fundamental step in knowing how to optimize resources and make strategic and sustainable options for the future, namely with regard to Portugal and its place in the context of apparent disorder in which we live. The pandemic only accelerated some changing trends that were looming on the horizon of the international system and, with it and after it, we moved from the VUCA world to the BANI world.
