Model Predictive Control of Five-Level ANPC Converter with Reduced Number of Calculations
This paper presents two model predictive control methods of five-level active neutral-point-clamped converter (ANPC) with Reduced Number of Calculations. The first method is less complicated and requires to calculate the value of cost function for only three converter voltage vectors. The second method is using two steps prediction horizon and requires to calculate cost function for seven vectors in first step and for three vectors for second step. The proposed methods are compared with standard model predictive control methods. Simulation results confirm a good performance of proposed methods.
