The communication scenario assumes a wireless Radio Access Network (RAN) based on an Open-RAN architecture. For the experiments an LTE testbed based on an open-source platform is used integrating the open RAN architecture with two types of functional splits and an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) deployed on the top of standard Linux based machines.
