The Shining Path’s Employment of Psychological Warfare during its Terrorism Campaign in Peru, 1970-1992

Psychological operations are an important component of special operations campaign planning. It is critical for military commanders and staffs to understand the propaganda of the opposing side. This article examines a compelling example of how terrorist organizations use ideology to justify political violence.
