The field of communication systems and network earmarked UAVs for airborne communication, which provides better throughput, line of sight with economical and less laborious infrastructure. Distinguishing the pros of UAVs and its applications in communication system domain, this study is structured to focus specifically on UAVs as relays. In this study, we highlight the comprehensive details of applications like WSN, SWIPT and beam-forming that provide the support of UAVs as relays. Moreover, the challenging issues such as power limitations of UAVs, positioning of UAV relays and security concerns in UAV relaying are also exploited with several dimension.
