The susceptibility charts correlate characteristics of the soil genesis with their geotechnical properties, in order to produce information regarding the susceptibility to erosion and dispersion. With regard to the occurrence of soil types, the State of Ceará has three predominant types, the most prevalent being Argisols soils with about 46,285 km² or 31.18% of the State's area, Neossols with 41,027 km² or 27.64% and Luvisols with 18.44% of the total area of the State or 27.369 km². In relation to erosion, 71.63% (104,176 km²) of soils in the state of Ceará were classified as highly susceptible and 28,37% (41,251 km²) as low susceptibility, with no percentage of average susceptibility being verified.
