Chess is usually chosen to be a basic game to verify the AI algorithm. This paper presents a basic heuristic algorithm, which is Minimax algorithm and Alpha-beta pruning. In addition, the chess movement can be detected by an image, which is taken by a camera at the top, and after that make the best counter’s move. Image processing method combined with SVM (support vector machine) model was used to improve the detection of the chess moves.
