This method assumes that images are placed on a flat surface. However, to increase the flexibility of the method, it is desirable to acquire data from an image placed on a curved surface. In this paper, we propose a method of extracting data from a data-embedded image placed on a cylinder surface as an example of a curved surface. We develop a method of correcting the captured image by estimating the distance between the mobile device and the image placed on a curved surface, given the radius of the cylinder, the size of the printed embedded image, and the focal length of the mobile device.
