Based on the TTL_INCREMENT value, ERS process starts by searching successively larger areas in the network keeping the source as centered of broadcast. To take advantage of ERS, in this paper, we propose an optimized routing algorithm named Energy Efficient ERS (E2-ERS) which executes an efficient route discovery scheme by reducing the total number of transmissions of RREQ during route discovery process for multicast in MANET.
