Abstract The purpose of the study was to describe learning descriptive text based on the MIKiR approach to class VII students at one of the Muaro Jambi State Junior High Schools. MIKiR-based descriptive text learning includes designing, implementing, and evaluating, which is carried out by educators or students. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research data includes lesson plans, scenarios, media, and LKPD MIKiR. Research sources are informants who can provide data, including educators and students. Informants/participants were selected using a purposeful sampling technique based on individual characteristics, namely educators and students. Data was collected by data analysis, in-depth interviews, and observation. Data analysis techniques include organizing, memoing, classifying, and interpreting data using open, axial, and selective coding. The presentation of the data is described according to the theme. The results of the MIKiR descriptive text learning research include activities to design scenarios, lesson plans, media, and LKPD, the implementation of learning based on the activities of educators and students, such as the element of experiencing students observing the text, elements of student interaction discussing, communication elements of students displaying work results, and elements of student interaction. Student interaction provides conclusions about the structure of the description text and learning assessments using diagnostic assessments.
