Adaptive handoff algorithms are being developed to solve this problem with a corresponding tradeoff in terms of computational complexity. This paper suggests a location-aware handoff decision algorithm. The performance of the traditional and proposed handoff algorithm in a cellular digital packet data network (CDPD) are compared using simulations.
