A real time Implementation of Four Vectors-Space Vector Modulation for Five Phase Indirect Matrix Converter using a low cost microcontroller
this work is a study, implementation and experimental validation of Space Vector Modulation technique using four Vectors (4V-SVM) applied to the Five-Phase Indirect Matrix Converter (5P-IMC) which is an AC-AC converter allowing five phase sinusoidal output generation with the aim to ensure the input power factor control. The applied technique algorithm is presented in a simple methodological approach, simulated on Matlab/PowerSim and implemented using a low cost micro-controller (STM32Discovery). This study deals with the output performance in terms of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), low order harmonics and adjustment curves. A prototype of 5P-IMC feeding an R load, is used to confirm simulation results. The implementation was successfully experimented without having undesirable low order harmonics, and the possibility of the generation of unity power factor has been guaranteed.
